Travelling with cats across the country
« on: June 03, 2005, 05:28:18 PM »
When we arrive in August we plan to have our cats with us. We will arrive at Heathrow, because that is where the approved flights enter. But then we have to get to our house in Scotland. We don't want to put them back in the cargo hold of an airplane for another flight (plus - that can be expensive).

Can we take pets on the trains? Any suggestions on how to travel with animals?

Or alternatively, does anyone in London fancy a drive up to Scotland in August? We'd pay for petrol and we have a spare bedroom in a lovely sea-view cottage.

How many cats? How many of YOU?

"Passengers may take with them, free of charge and subject to conditions below, dogs, cats and other small animals (maximum two per passenger) provided they do not endanger or inconvenience passengers or staff." - http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/luggage.htm#animals for further details
