More ILR Questions. Form Set M!
« on: June 05, 2005, 03:41:58 PM »
Okeydoke.
I'm gathering my application documents and am going to be making an appt to process them in person at Lunar House in Croydon. I  have a few questions that I haven't been able to clear up by reading and re-reading things!

In section 7 it lists the kind of documents that can be used as evidence that we have been living together. Nowhere does it say that bank statements will be used to show evidence of funds, yet it says at the bottom "We do not accept cashpoint printouts and internet bank statements as evidence of funds."

We switched over to an internet back  while back but still get statementes from our old, traditional bank. They say we have no money in them, but they show we live at the same address! What do people do in this situation?

Also, can you use other official documents other than on the list as long as they show we live together? Driving license (paper part)? Pay stubs?

We don't have council tax in our current flat (it is included) and we don't have gas or water rate or electricity bills... (we have a coin fed meter).

Am I panicking for nothing?
Peedal -where are you? Is it this hard? What trouble did you run up against?

Thanks in advance!

Jen

Can you request some paper statements from your Internet bank? Tell them the situation?
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

They changed the requirements just after I actually got mine done, so I know they're asking for way more paperwork than they even asked from me when they sent me away the first time... :P

Both names on the lease?  That will be good - and if you can get maybe separate letters addressed to each of you from the landlord about the council tax being included and the fact that you have a coin fed meter on the premises - it will be something from this year showing that you two are residing at the same place.

Look through ALL your old paper work.

They didn't seem to want the bank accounts to show funds - they wanted them to show proof of living at the same place, so I'd take the balanceless printed statements you're still receiving from your old bank.

Credit card bills, "solicitation" post that may actually have your names on it, pay stubs if they show your address...

The problem we had was that the form was the old one, asking for proof for the past year or so, and because FLR is 2 years now they insisted on 2 years of proof, even though the form didn't and NOWHERE on the website (at the time) did either.  I think it was a bit cheeky of them to actually send me away based on requirements that I couldn't possibly have known about - but at least we didn't get charged twice like someone else I heard about.  :o

What exactly do you have for the past two years?  (You can PM if you feel it's too "personal"!)
