I have an interview!
« on: June 07, 2005, 02:10:06 PM »
YAY! I've been applying for teaching jobs like mad for the last 2 months and haven't even been shortlisted.  Not having entry clearance has been a royal pain.  So, on Saturday I mailed out 45 CVs and today I got a call for a school in Essex to interview me on Friday.  I am SO HAPPY!   :D
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

That is great Kristi!!!  It's so nice when the interviews start coming in!  Plus they happen quickly and you find out right away!

That's the best thing about teaching interviews -- you'll know that afternoon!

OH MY GOSH!  I just got ANOTHER phone call for another school to interview me next week.  WOW!  This is so exciting...

Thanks everyone.  I'm over the moon about all of this.  Now, what to wear??

You know I don't normally do this - but I have everything crossed for you, Kristi!  I think I want you to stay here as much as you want to stay!

Where's the school in Essex?  And have you applied to any here in my neck of the woods, hint hint?  (I know you love London, but it's gorgeous out here...and only 45 minutes back to the city by train...1 hour and 5 minutes from my doorstep to Covent Garden station!  ;D  )

One is in Colchester and the other one is in Brentwood.  The school in Brentwood wants to see me on Thursday and I go to Colchester on Friday.

I have applied EVERYWHERE, even in Kent.  There were 150 jobs listed on the TES this week and I sent out about 50 CVs. These two interviews came from those CVs.  The jobs I applied for went from Northumberland down to Plymouth.

I'm so excited!!  I can hardly stand it.   :D

Oh wow! Congratulations! What a relief for you!!!!! Knock 'em dead (I've got an interview on Friday too - maybe it'll be Lucky Interview Day!)

I just had to order a new suit from M&S with urgent delivery - fricken suit skirts don't seem to fit anymore. Damn fish & chips. LOL.

I've got a few nice dresses that I can wear.  But if I get hired, I'll have to bring over all my 'work' clothes because most of them are all in my closet at my mom's.

Elizabeth.. when do you want to get together?  I'm sure I'll need a few drinks by Friday night!

Yeah... see thing is... I'm away filming (I CAN FINALLY SAY THAT!  ;D )... as of Thursday til Sunday, so bad timing as far as that goes; and I did get 2 shades, so we do indeed need to meet up so you can try them.
So I am sorry I won't be able to meet up til Tuesday next week...  :-\\\\
Unless you might be coming to one of the shows?  We can do it after?  I don't think at least the one on Sunday should go late.  We'll figure it out through pm, or heaven forbid, on the phone, like they used to do.  ;)

Hehe!  I do love the phone.  ;)  I'll give you a ring later on.
