Dual citizenship
« on: June 11, 2005, 12:52:49 AM »
Hello,
My wife has applied for dual citizenship from the U.S. She has lived in the U.S. her entire life, but her mom is British and has relatives in England. Anyways I know that my wife qualifies for dual citizenship based on heritage, but is there a requirement that one needs to live in England for so long so qualify for dual citizenship?
Thanx

When your wife gets her British citizenship, she will automatically have dual citizenship.  You'll need to live in the UK for (three?  I can't recall offhand) years to apply for British citizenship, and if you get it you will have dual citizenship as well.
