Bananas and anything banana-flavored (even just that smell makes me sick)
Liver (and probably any other internal organs, for that matter)
Onions
Marmite/vegemite
Sweet potatoes
Deer
Duck
Turkey on a bone (turkey cutlets are fine, turkey cold-cuts are fine)
Fish without shells and/or without feet (i.e. I'll eat lobster, shrimp, oysters, squid, octopus)
Malted milk balls
Sponge cake from a bakery (homemade is ok)

But I love snails -- go figure

beer??, how can you dislike beer. Like peedal's signature mentions and a t-shirt I have with the same quote from Ben Franklin, "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." ;D

How'd I miss this thread? I'll eat just about anything, but there are one or two things that I just can't get past:

Marmite
Cilantro (I definitely think it's a love or hate thing)
Kidney (as in Steak & Kidney pie. Bleh!)
Blood pudding (though I know it's just the thought of it as dh tricked me into trying the white kind once and I thought it was alright)
Raw celery (my mom always makes a special potato salad for me - "without the crunchies")

I'm amazed at how many people here don't like lamb. I hate the idea of it (cute little lambies, but then I hate the idea of all meat) but I have to admit I like the flavour....

Yes, but don't they disguise it by calling it Black pudding?  [smiley=bleck.gif]

And, what the h*** is white pudding?  No one seems to know, or want to tell...  [smiley=anxious.gif]

Mmmmm - black pudding.  Yummy!

There's a restaurant in the Victoria area which has a starter that is absolutely divine!  Melted stilton cheese w/chunks of black pudding in it.  So rich - so creamy - so tasty, especially with bits of crusty bread.  Yummy.

Okay - now I'm hungry!  ;D

What amazes me is that people get grossed out by black pudding or any other such meats, but then eat hot dogs, spam or any processed meat.  Just because you can't see it does not mean it's not in there.....  ;D

Though to be honest I pretty much stay away from anything ground up that I don't know what's in it.  I even prefer to grind my own beef.

I was totally surprised by sausage and burgers when I was in England.  Everything has mystery fillers in it!!   :P  Michigan has some of the most stringent meat packing and producing laws in the country.  When you buy something you know what it is and what's in it.  I especially prefer Kosher hotdogs - no mystery there, you know it's going to be good.  I just hated English sausage for the most part, though there was one B&B that served some that was ok.

Give me good ol' Jimmy Dean any time!!  ;)

I'll ask dh what it is when he gets in. He told me it was blood pudding without the blood, which is how he got me to eat it, which was pretty dumb of me in retrospect - why didn't I ask "if there's not blood in it then what IS in it??"  ::) It was so long ago that I don't even remember where we got it, but it looked just like black pudding but it was white....

Exactly.  They just don't seem to want to say.  I asked a certain ex of mine what was in it, and he just raised his eyebrows and started talking about Man City  :-\\\\

I just had a quick search for "white pudding" (wondering if it's like those nasty white sausages in France) and I came across this quote on someone's website:

"I was at a Scottish evening (playing those jigs and reels) and part of the meal was "white pudding" - it was savoury and like a pale herby sausage - I did not enquire too closely into the ingredients : sausages are like political decisions, if you like them, its probably better that you don't know what went into them."

I think that's about right ;)
