Question about bank statements
« on: June 16, 2005, 11:53:11 PM »
I finally received my fiancees documents today in the mail (after over 10 days being lost somewhere in customs) my original appt was suppose to be on the 10th,then it got changed to the 16th and now it is for the 28th (thank you post office!).. anyway my question is since its been awhile since he sent off the documents, his last bank statement is early/mid-may, is this going to be ok since is he going to be supporting me there? also, along with his bank statements I have a letter from his employer stating his salary and etc, and a bunch of his recent paystubs. Will this be sufficient enough or do I really need that recent statement? Thanks

Hello and good luck. From our experience with the consulate in LA (this is assuming you are applying for a spousal/fiance visa?) a statement from the employer with the salary should be enough. When my wife applied for her visa, I had only been in the UK for two months, and though I had a bank account in the UK, I had not had it long enough to get a statement at all. Her application did not have any of my (British spouse) bank statement at all, merely a letter from my boss stating employment and salary. They never called to interview and we got the visa within the ten working days.

Best luck to you!
