I am at odds with my hubby and mother. Hubby wants big bucks for everything, mum thinks it should go cheap to get rid off. Yeah I want to get rid of the stuff but still want to have something to take to the bank. I was thinking...

t-shirts, shorts .50
pants, sweaters, regular tops $1.00
complete outfits $2.00

Many of the items are brand names like Oshkosh, Carters, Old Navy and such. With going to sales all the time the prices are very mixed aroound the board. One woman had each piece of clothes at $3.00, it also looked like nothing had been bought and it was the last day at 1 in the afternoon.

What ya think?

I guess it depends on the brand name, really, because Oshkosh and Carters cost more than Old Navy, don't they?

With that in mind, I think your guide prices are reasonable and you should sell most if not all and have something to take to the bank!

I think your prices are low, but maybe only by $.50  Peedal is right though, some of those brands cost a lot more and if they are in good condition they can go for more.

I think they are right. Up the prices of the more expensive stuff by .a $1.00 or so. If it doesn't sell within an hour, drop it down.

True ..why don't you ebay big lots?? I remember a friend ebay a box of stuff and just the frantic competition between two bidders raised everything up to nearing $3.50 ea !!! he couldn't understand it either ...he sold things in lot of 10s...mostly boys clothing.
But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

I tried ebay for a few things like a baby Dior baby suit and no bids.

We are having a huge airplane convention the end of July, it brings in over 750000 people and I am having the sale then. Most of the ladies go to sales while hubby is at the airport.

I've been quite successful in selling Niall's old brandname clothes on eBay.  Gap and Osh Kosh can pull in some reasonable prices.

We usually price some of the nice outfits up to $5 if they are still in good condition.  The rest of the prices are pretty much as you said.  I've found it's all in the advertising.  The village I lived in a while back would have a village wide garage sale and pay for the advertising.  Also putting an add in the classified section the Friday of, and stating baby clothes, boys clothes, or womens suites size ?, gets more people.  Also, making everything half off after 2pm on Sunday gets those last few things to move.

Hello, I have used ebay selling my sons clothes and have had great success expecially with named brand like Tommy, Ralph Lauren and Old Navy.  some of my lots which I list several items in each lot went for lover $100.00 , some went for more than $150.00.  Depends on the condition and especially if you have pics of the items on ebay.  Good luck.

I also would think that you could pull in much more on ebay than you could with a garage sale.  At a garage sale, people expect stuff to be super-cheap, and they want to be able to walk away with a bag of stuff for $3.00.  If you list the items on ebay, people will bid and bid to win, thus driving the prices up.  Start low to attract more bidders.  Ebay buyers also love "lots."  List them as a lot.  And of course, you will be reaching many, many more people than just a local garage sale.  I think it's worth a shot.  Whatever doesn't sell on ebay, maybe you should consider then having a garage sale with the rest.
