I nce had a pasta sidedish with corn in it, which seemed odd but was delicious.  It was basically just buttery pasta with corn.

And I love peas.  And vinegar on chips, although I admit I still prefer ketchup with pepper sprinkled on.  But always vinegar on fish.

OH YES!!  Must have good crunchy crisps on a tuna sammich!!  YUM!!!  I may have to make that this week.  Wait - I'm out of bread.  Note to self - - go to store and buy bread and crisps!!

Can you get Bumble Bee tuna in England?  It's the best tuna I've ever had.  I'm buying the premium one now and it's fantastic.

Ooooh, is that the fancy stuff in the gold tin?? A friend in the US sent me some last year and it was AMAZING!!! I hate to say this, Liza, but if you're anything like me, you're going to be sorely disappointed in the quality of UK tuna. It's my biggest (maybe only?) gripe with this country. I've settled on Sainsbury's gourmet line of albacore tuna, which comes in little jars with gold labels and is waaaay pricey. But to me (a self-confessed tuna junkie), it's worth it. The rest of the stuff I've found is just glorified catfood. Blech!

I buy the Sainsburys gourmet line albacore if I'm going to use it in a particular recipe -- like my spaghetti/pasta puttanesca dish.  Like belindaloo says, the regular tuna is available here is pretty blech!  However, I've been able to live with Sainsburys Yellowfin tuna steak (in a tin) for sandwiches, tuna salad, etc -- it's a bit more expensive but also a slight bit better than the regular tinned tuna available.

I havent seen this Sainsbury's gourmet albacore....  I'll have to look for it!

Im coming down to the end of the massive stock of Chicken of the Sea WHITE tuna i bought in Costco just before my membership expired last year.

I can really only eat white tuna.  My DH says he cant tell the difference, but i CAN!

Same with me! Guy insists that if he gave me a taste test, I'd never be able to tell the difference ... but I know I could!!

It's one of their "taste the difference" range and comes in a jar not a tin.

Yes - it is the stuff in the gold tin - and it is wonderful!!!  I don't eat tuna a lot, but when I do it has to be really good stuff.  I leave the cat food for the cat.  Will have to remember to stock up before the move then!!  I'm surprised you can't find at least the regular Bumble Bee at Costco - it may have something to do with import laws - who knows.

Yeah -- the sad thing is it costs something like around £2.50 (correct me if I'm wrong) for ONE jar. [smiley=bigcry.gif]

I've almost got my hubs talked into a Costco membership!!  Can't wait -- as I've heard they tend to carry a few more American foods?

Well that's what I've been pitching to hubs...save money, a little bit of home for me.  (He hates shopping. ::))  We were going to try & go tonight BUT I tripped on the basement stairs yesterday, twisted my ankle & now I'm hobbling all around so I can't be doing all that walking for a bit -- to/from train station. :(

Ouch!!!  You may want to wait till next week then.  These places are huge!  And have concrete floors.  You will be hobbled by the time you are done shopping.  Go when you can enjoy it more.  :)

Hope you feel better!
