Sent passport to embassy, promised 4 day turn around
« on: June 22, 2005, 03:53:10 PM »
but we have not received the passport back.  Sent it in for added pages, per the instructions.  Used 'Special Delivery' both ways.  Embassy said it would take four days and then be in the post to us.

Anyone have experience with this?  Is it worth ringing them up as it's three days late?  Off to Amersterdam tomorrow so we really need the bloody passport!

Thanks.

Yes I would, if you are going overseas tomorrow & its 3 days late, I would've called em on the first day they were late. See, if they have a tracking number for you.

Just so everyone knows there are severe delays amendments, and new passports. Please be patient. If you are traveling make sure to put your travel date on your documents and send a letter saying when and where you are going.

I assume you got your passport back. Have a good trip :)

Thanks for the responses!  We rang the embassy and thankfully, they'd not done a thing with our passport.  Not put in the pages, nothing.  So we made the hour train there and picked it up.

Frustrating that they didn't bother to do what they said they would (on the website) but at least they had it in their possession, didn't drop it into the post late.

We would have loved to given more time than 1.5 weeks, but business travel precluded that.  So we trusted the website.

Off to Amsterdam!

I know, we are lucky!!  Dear Embassy, thank you for doing absolutely nothing, so we could make a panicked ride into London and pick up the passport ourselves. :D
