I-130 HELP!!!
« on: June 24, 2005, 10:49:00 AM »
I sent off my husband's I-130 petition a few weeks ago when we were visiting in the US. I sent it to the VT service center since I have only been in the UK "officially" since Jan. 2005 and do not have ILR status.

Today I received the petition back in the post at my UK address here in Newcastle-upon-Tyne along with a blue piece of paper saying that since I live in the UK I need to file through the London office. (BTW, I had sent a cover letter to VT stating that I was filing through them since I had just moved to the UK and VT was the service center having jurisdiction over my last US residence, which I still own.) I called the Embassy in London...they said send the petition down with a copy of my ILR or letter from home office. I told them I do not have one. They said to email the londonconsular@state.gov to find out what to do...which I have just done.

ARRRRRGH!

Please keep your fingers crossed that I hear back from them in a timely fashion. I am really anxious to get back to the US (though I know it will probably take close to a year in our circumstances) since my daughter just doesn't want to move here and I have already been away from her almost a year (with a few visits.)

Thanks, Vicki
