Music Train
« on: June 25, 2005, 08:54:10 AM »
Last nite DH and I took the "music train" from Exeter to Barnstaple (and back to Exeter).  This is the local Wessex Train service and once a month they have a band on-board, along with a bar.  This is only a small two carriage train, so it was a bit tight for awhile, but it was really good fun.   Last night the band was a local bluegrass group (not too bad either!), but usually they have jazz bands.  Price is £5.00 rtn, we left Exeter at 8.45 and arrived back at 11.09.
Oh, and most importantly, they served real ale, Piston by Beer Engine,,,very, very nice I might add (also had wine and soft drinks).

anyway,,,,a nice way to ride the train!
