got my ilr visa, confused on......
« on: June 27, 2005, 11:31:59 PM »
i recieved my ilr visa today which has resince permit stamp in my passport (not sure why)
the letter that came with it says something about a new passport and if it is needed to be transferred to a new passport (i.e it expires or gets lost etc...) theres a fee for a new stamp

my question is has anyone had to do this? (get a new stamp)
anyone know the fee?
my passport is good for 10 years (may recall i just had it renewed)
so every 10 years i need to pay a fee?
would becoming a citizen make the ilr visa matter and stamp in passport no longer valid?
would becoming a citizen be best option?

i know a few questions
just curious as to if anyone else has come across doing this etc..

thanks for your help

You don't have to pay to have your ILR transferred to a new passport -- when your current passport expires, you can just carry it with your new one.  If you want to have it transferred, the fee is the same as your original ILR application (unless they've very recently changed that...).
