They are overkilling this Andie MacDowell ad for whatever hair thing she pushes (Loreal?), and it bugs me because there looks like something is wrong with her and I can't figure it out. She totally looks off, maybe it is the space between her eyebrows or something? I don't know, but it annoys the heck out of me.

the best ones on tv right now for my money are the beer ads where the barman tells the annoying customers, "yer barrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrred!" those kill us everytime.

howard from sheldon (in the halifax ads) makes me want to punch the screen. and you know what the worst part is about those current account ads? the very end, where the two unnaturally hip banker chics go "uh-huh." uh-grrrrrr.  ::)

there's a burger king advert on right now that's obviously american & has been overdubbed in british voices. that annoys me.

i can't stand those injurylawyers4you ads.

but the single most annoying thing about tv in the uk is that horrid "they're gonna taste great" kid from the frosties advert. i made the mistake of telling DH how much i despise the little ******* and now i hear "they're gonna taste great" jingle all the time around the house. i can only pray that that kid gets the living **** kicked out of him in the schoolyard on a daily basis.

Well now, hasn't William Shatner's acting career gone down the toilet!  Star Trek, The Fall Guy, T.J. Hooker...Crunchy Nut Cornflakes!

Not that they are on in the UK but the new Hummer ads drive me INSANE!!  However, I love the new Burger King Chicken Fries ad.  Maybe you DO want to be a french fry.  Heh.

I can't stand that one and Phil hates it but the only thing I like about it is that whenever that advert comes on Phil puts on an american accent and says "thats cuz you rock Andie"

it's hilarious!

Last time I was in the UK (in July), it was the commerical for the UK version of frosted flakes. With the kid singing.

"They're gonna taste grrrreat!"

I haven't read this thread in ages and I think it's really funny to read other people's opinions 'cause I actually really disagree with a bunch of them. I really like the Vauxhall ad - the first one (oh, they're tired) not the later one though.... I also really like the Honda "Dream the Impossible Dream" ad - in fact it sort of tears me up a little bit for some pathetic reason. I HATE the Sheila's Wheels ads with a passion.

I really like the T-Mobile ads - the one where everything goes right for the bloke walking around - the trees shade him and he reaches through the window to tap his mate on the shoulder. And the newer one (is it T-Mobile?) where the buildings fold down so the group of friends can get to each other easily. Very cute.

I heard that "Smile" song that they use for (I think?) TalkTalk the other morning on XFM. I didn't realise that was a "real" song....

Edited to add: I also have to switch over when the ad about the bear abuse and the ones with the abandoned kittens comes on. I can't stand to watch them. And the one about speeding with the little girl. I turn off the radio when a similar one comes on - this is the sound of a child getting hit at xx miles per hour. I refuse to listen to it. I understand the message, but I don't think it's communicated more effectively that way....

Totally with you on the Sheila's Wheels ads. Also sick to death of the Muller song. I find the ad and song in it of the guy who takes a shower then walks around naked eating hotdogs and riding on the subway and going to a disco and snapping people with his towel very annoying. And the ads for the chocolate covered cereal straw annoy me too, but mainly because the product is so indicative of all that is wrong with the world today.

However I do enjoy the Stella Artois ads. The one with the ice skating priests is pretty cool.  :)

I really don't like the advert for crunchy nut when the guy heads to his house to get some crunchy nut by riding a dog ??? Surely it would be just as easy to get home via bike or public transport :P
