adverts you love & hate

I get why you (and others) wouldn't like it, but I think that review is missing the point.  I don't think Halifax was trying to be "cool."  Quite the opposite, I've always thought they were being self-consciously uncool with it.  But never mind, different strokes, etc etc .

I get your point on the irony - but it doesn't work for me on that level either.  The banks are so despicable these days, such that whether the advert is meant to be cool or uncool is immaterial.  How they (Halifax) are depicted rollicking about turns my stomach.  Oh yes - recession, people losing their jobs, etc it's all such a freakin' party!  (and the song is bloody annoying too)

And agreed, different strokes. 

Practically every other commercial on here is for cars -- as Christmas gifts! Wha? 

I love the Compare the Market/ Compare the Meerkat commercials, they are brilliant.

The new Yorkshire TV advert is brilliant- I think I like it because they're driving around America giving a proper cuppa to British expats - and it's something we can all relate to- craving something from home , made properly!

I haven't seen that one, but it reminds me that I quite like the new PG Tips one.  Usually Johnny Vegas and his monkey annoy me, but I like the one where they come home all cold and wet and end up warm and cozy with cups of tea.  Watching it really does make me want a cuppa, so job done advertising execs!

I got my DH this book - he thought it was GREAT!

I love the Meerkats commercials the one where there at the senior citizen home where there are 2 senior meerkats who are arguing with each other makes me laugh everytime lol.    

I absolutely Love     the new Whiskas kitten commercial the kitten in it is soooo adorable almost makes me want to get a kitten but I wont our 2 older cats wouldn't appreciate that all lol.    

There is a new commercial here for some brand of disposable nappies, with cartoon babies "filling" their nappies.  I do not wish to know that, even in cartoon form.

Heheheh the new IKEA advert is great!

I love the Peanut M&M commercial its old but I still love it & I love the O2 commercial where the squirrel is on the boat with a mini life jacket on too cute!!
