Those are funny!

I really like the McVittie's digestive ones with the animals. They're really funny! The lemur and the owls. Make me laugh. The corgi puppies are just adorable.

I also loved the ad with the little girl and her kitten biking around their cul de sac singing "We Built this City."
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

I never get to watch adverts because DH goes ballistic when they come on and switches the channel.  Generally he records everything he wants to watch and then fast forwards through the commercials (muttering).  If he does get stuck with an ad he mutes the sound.  Hence he sits there clutching all three clickers in case a dreaded commercial message should sneak in.   ::)

Yeah, I know a few people like your husband.haha. I hate the political ads back in the states, and I would definitely mute the commercials when they were on when I lived in CO.

I have to say it's been entertaining to see how different the commercials are here compared to the states. For one, they still use jingles here! At least for some things. *smiles* The fact that a lot of channels don't have that many commercials is awesome!

Another new Irn Bru advert!
A guy is sitting on the toilet in a train... the one with the automatic slidey door.  The door opens while he is sitting there, and he falls forward in an attempt to grab the door, with his ars* up in the air, exposed to the women in the doorway.  There are a couple of funny quips I cant remember at the moment, and then a cyclist comes along and asks where he can park a bike!  Need to see it again to catch the other stuff...

Speaking of ads, sexist messages aside, protein shakes are a rip off.

The political ads here are amazing. Maybe it's just the ones I've seen but they're so different from American ones - nobody's accusing their opponents of kicking puppies and hugging terrorists or telling bald-faced lies. They make actual promises instead of vague allusions to what they may or may not do. It's just refreshing!

Whenever it's on, there's this compulsion to pause whatever I'm doing and watch it.

Hi,

Aquila, when that ad comes on, this is how I look;

I don't usually have much time to watch tv, and I can't currently immediately remember any good or funny ads I like currrently !

Cheers! DtM! West London & Slough UK!

I love that ad too Aquila!! I also find the comparethemarket.com ads with the gay Russian meerkats to be really cute. Maybe because you'd never see something like that in the States. (A gay couple adopting a baby?! Must be the end times!!)

Whenever I see it, I always turn to DH and say, "That is a man very very comfortable with himself."   ;D

How funny... I have been watching those meerkat adverts for years and it never once occurred to me that they were meant to be gay!

I don't think the meerkats' sexual orientation has ever been directly addressed, but I always took the characterisation as more louche/camp. A fop or dandy.

I can't believe it's been 2 years since we had this revelation about the meerkats!
