adverts you love & hate

I like the new Amazon Prime advert where the baby screams everytime the dog comes near her....the sad face on the dog!!  The brat plays quite happily with a toy lion, so dad buys a lions mane from Amazon, puts it on the dog, and now the wean will accept the dog, and everyone's happy. 

I can't believe it's been 2 years since we had this revelation about the meerkats!

It's only been 5 minutes for me, thanks to this thread. 

I have no idea why it never occurred to me before.  Even with the latest few ads where they "broke up" and then got together again at the movies . 

I always thought thier relationship was employer/employee anyway.  Wasn't one of them a butler or something? 

Wait, the meerkats are a couple?? I also thought one was the butler.  Wow, I wouldn't want to be in a relationship where outsiders thought one of us was the other's butler, lol!

I always just saw them as friends... one a sort of cool rich guy, and one a sort of nerdy science geek... or maybe an accountant?  He wears a white shirt with a pocket protector & pens.

I support the Meerkat's right to love whoever they want but I'm just not feeling it.  I don't think they are doing the dance of the double backed Meerkat.

HATE:  the new advert for KP peanuts where the baby elephant shoots the peanuts out of his trunk when he realises they're not KP.
It mainly bugs me because the voiceover claims that the reason KP peanuts taste so good is because they're exposed to 130 days of sunshine before being picked.  Nice.  But peanuts grow underground.  No sunshine underground.

I haven't lived in the UK for a while but my MIL always forwards me her favorite commercials so I'm glad I can follow this thread. I'll share my absolute favorite UK commercial. It came out in 2002 and my husband and I refer to it when we eat something we know we shouldn't!

HATE Pot Noodle (it's the smell...), but LOVE that ad!

They're employer/employee, you see that in the most recent commercial when the one with glasses has the day off. Haha.
And you get the song "all by myself".

I watch a lot of things like Location Location Location and Love it or List it (anything with Phil and Kirstie really) and those Wickes voiced by Phil Spencer ads are love/hate for me.  I like the ones with the dad playing around and impressing the baby, but the one that drives me nuts is the 'Let's big box little box KITCHEN BOX' at the guys that are dancing in the kitchen.  I have NEVER been at a casual party at a friend's house where people just start dancing.  But they're all guys in the commercial so maybe this is something guys do when we're not around??  So many questions.

LOL... Locations is probably my favourite TV programme, and in general I do like both Phil and Kirstie, but those Wickes adverts with Phil's voiceover are awful.  I don't even know/see/perceive what's happening on screen; I am just focused on how weird and creepy Phil's voice sounds!
