American Babygro Translation!
« on: July 05, 2005, 09:13:33 PM »
What are babygros usually called in the US? Are they onesies? I mean the short sleeve legless kind. My sister in law is visiting soon and I want to ask her to bring some for Ethan (for some reason the US kind seem to fit him better than the English kind!).

Thanks!

Yep, they're onsies!

Modified to add - at least that's what they're called where I live.  They may be called different things in different places, though...
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

They're onesies everywhere in the US.  In fact, that's the name-brand for the Gerber ones.

I thought babygro's were what we call sleepers? I thought onesies are called bodysuits here.   ???

Dh calls onesies babygros and the ones w/legs or feet sleepsuits.  Aw, I LOVE that stage where you can put them in sleepsuits.  Of course, footie jimjams are adorable as well.  On a freshly washed, sleepy toddler.  I'm getting all broody here.

I love 'em.  Little Aillidh had some tie-dyed long shorts and I have lots of photos of her, zedding away in them.  They're nice b/c they go w/any colouring  ;D
