Yeah, someone basically being an a**hole has such a high quality sense of humor. This isn't high school.

I cannot decide if you are referring to JMaster or Pebbles - either way- you are out of order lady and worse, you woke me up.

Now, vino anyone and I don't even drink  ::)

I've actually seen where someone posted that if someone was saying they were happing living here, they must be sniffing glue!

And they've been selling glue to me disguised as expensive, quality wine?!  I want my money back!

Quote
I think Americans living here have the best of intentions when they say that the conveniences here equal those in the States, but I also know that anyone saying that realizes they'd have to be sniffing glue to honestly feel that way.

The poster of that quote shall remain nameless...but this is the kind of thing that has been posted for years.

I really don't think ANYONE who is happy here has ever said anything even remotely close to the converse.

OK. I can see where this is going already.  [smiley=goofy.gif]

So how's the weather everyone? Cloudy, grey and chilly in Coventry. New-Dawn...what about you?
Belindaloo...beach day for you?
Where's everyone going for holiday? I seem to be craving a high school reunion for some reason.

I got sunshine and nice sea breeze down here ~ laundry is going out (oh god, that will start the line v dryer thread again ;)

And I feel sorry for his girlfriend if that's his idea of a "sense of humor".

I'm not even gonna rise to that one

I'm not even gonna rise to these comments - like you said we aren't in high school  :P

My last post on this subject is again about the NHS (I know its a bit off topic but the NHS always gets critisised in these kinds of threads).  The UK has two types of health care, the NHS and a system which is similar to the US i.e. private.  For all those who criticize the NHS and say its cr*p please feel free to use our private system as it will free up valuable resources for those of us who value free and quality health care for LIFE and not just if you can afford it.  My point here is that you have a choice so if your sick of the NHS please use the other option.

He he he he he he

Funny,  not nice and not true but reading that comment just made me spit my coffee out all over my keyboard.

JMaster,  I think Honeybee was being pretty tame.  I was really going to rip you one.

I personally think the NHS is great (Im a proud NHS nurse) but let me play devil's advocate.  A lot of hard working people who pay high taxes, may want to go private and probably would go private if they weren't getting absolutely killed in taxes to support the people who sit on at home on benefits all day.  What about all the people who use the NHS who never pay in?  How do you think that affects the services that the NHS provides?  What effect do you think that has on average joe taxpayer busting his butt and paying taxes?

Oh crap I am way off topic.

Feel free, I can take it ;)

Those people who claim benifits actually do pay into the NHS.  The NHS as you know is funded by NI payments and if you are on benifits you still pay an element of NI through your benifits, you never see it but you do pay it.  Now arguably we still pay for it as benifits are ultimatly funded through our taxes so I do see your point although I don't think a penny less in income tax for example would enable people to afford private health care.

I personally think the NHS is great (Im a proud NHS nurse)

I for one would like to say thanks and keep up the good work  :)

I guess I just have a sense of humour. Guess that makes me immature also.

Me too, Ricki. Immature gals gotta stick together.  ;D

And Helen, it's always cocktail time somewhere in the world.  ;)

So to Southernboy, I read somewhere that our universe is a thinking universe and that our thoughts are of the greatest importance. Our thoughts produce that which is around us. After all, if you look around at all of the greatest inventions they basically came about because of some thought, some person had, somewhere in time. The long and short of it, we are what we think about. If you spend your time thinking about how miserable you are, then you will most likely be miserable.

I also believe that every coin has two sides. Every bad has a good. It makes more sense to me to look at the good, versus the bad. Might make your life a bit less stressful, because you do sound very stressed !!!!!!!!!!!

To the 911, cannot remeber your whole address. . .I think you are very funny! Lighten up folks. Life is short. Make the best of it. Everyone has opinions.

So back to the weather . . .  I'm in the states and it's raining, it's hot and humid.

I'm sorry...but can raining, hot and humid really all be used in the same sentence??   ;D

Oh, yes they can.  If you're in Florida, that's the entire summer - hot, humid, raining - all at once.  Miserable.  Well, to me, at least.

I think it's more a matter that those of us who are happy here in the UK are sick to the back teeth of being told we're the ones who are settling because the UK can't possibly be as wonderful as the US.

Shizzle my nizzle!!
