I'm a bit late to this party, but Delicious mag. just did a review of ice cream makers (in the July issue - not sure if it's still on the stands.) Their fav. was the Magi Mix Gelato Chef 2200 Ice Cream and Sorbet Maker. The bad news is that it's a truly staggering £285!  :o Next highest ratings (8/10) were the Gaggia Gelatiera Ice Cream Maker at an UNREAL £335 (good lord) and the much more modestly priced (£39.95) Chilly Ice Cream Maker..... The ones they liked LEAST (5/10 and 6/10 respectively) were the Panasonic EZ Ice Cream Maker and the Rival Gel Disc Ice Cream Maker.

I'll put it on my Christmas list for the BF right now! ;)

Very reasonably priced! How big is it, Stacey? In inches, please. Have you received it yet, or just placed the order! I'm dying to hear how it works!

Just ordered it last night.  But it says "Fits neatly in any kitchen"  So seems to be good.

LOL!  I don't know, I will let you know after I get it and measure it!

How about putting an extra freezer on that list!? :P

Not too bad, thank you!  And for £29.99 I'd say worth it ;D

OK, since Helen is asking about it too, I'll be the kind soul that I (usually) am and post the review (I wouldn't do it if I wasn't an exceedingly fast typist though ;) ).

"Philips HR2303 Ice Cream Maker (£35. For stockists, call 0845 601 0354 or visit www.philips.com) You need to put the bowl in the freezer 18 hours in advance with this one. It makes up to 700ml of ice cream and the chute is nice and spacious, so you won't slop the mixture everywhere. Ice cream is ready to eat in 25-45 minutes. delicious. ration: 7/10"

Maybe you could just permanently store it in the freezer - that way it'll always be frozen and you wouldn't have to pre-plan.... You could keep frozen peas in it!  :D
