You don't need to keep it in there, you got the one from lakeland right?  I'm not sure what happened, but I did make 2 batches of ice cream, strawberry and chocolate.  Both were great and both with splenda!

No, I know I don't need to keep it in there, but if it's in there now, then 18 hours from 2:30pm today, I'll be able to make ice cream! Right? Is that how it works?

Which one did you get?  The one from lakeland, the Panasonic?  Or one that you are supposed to freeze the bowl?  Most you have to freeze the bowl and then put in the maker.  The Panasonic one you put all the ingredients in bowl then put the whole maker in the freezer.

No, it's the Phillips one from Lakeland. This one: http://www.lakelandlimited.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/GBP/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=Zlp_nY_Wwk6uqc0l0TFzmycW3Iae0x6fCVk=?ProductID=bWzCy5OSJL0AAADjHuiEgEQO

You do just freeze the bowl. I think.... I haven't gotten any further than sticking the bowl in the freezer so far. Which one was yours?

Ahh, well nevermind then.  That is different then the one we got.  Let us know how it goes, maybe I will buy that one instead.

Stacey and I got the Panasonic one where you dont have to freeze the bowl... you put the entire machine into the freezer with the mixture in it, and it stirs it while it's in the freezer.  Ready in 3 hours.

What happened?!

The bit that holds the spinning thing does not stay in the hole, so it does not stir.  Fun! :-[

I don't think my freezer would hold the entire machine, so the Phillips one was probably the best choice for me. I'll let you know how tomorrow's coffee ice cream turns out!

I didn't get a new one, they didn't have anymore, I had bought the last one.  I might wait to see how Helen's is and then buy that one.  I think Debenhams and Amazon both have it.

It won't be long now! The mixture is in the fridge getting good and cool (that's what the instructions recommend). I'm going to jump in the shower now (is it already 12:30?!?) and then rev up the ice cream maker! Wheee!!!

OMG, Stacey! IT IS INCREDIBLE!!!

I made coffee ice cream and then tossed in some plain chocolate (cut in nice big hunks) halfway through. Delicious!! I didn't use one of your recipes, because I wasn't sure how much it would make. I thought that it would be safer the first time to just try one of the recipes that came in the instruction booklet with the ice cream maker. Now that I have it figured out, I can adjust the quantities in your recipes to fit. The bowl of my ice cream maker only holds .7 litre, which they claim is 4-5 servings. Hah! I could seriously eat it at one sitting! So far I've only had one spoonful, but a friend is coming over later for a proper tasting session!

I highly recommend the Phillips! I can't wait to try it out again! Fresh peach ice cream is next on the agenda!

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!! I figured it was so full of cream, etc. that a bit of sugar wouldn't really kill me.
