Ideas for short break with dog
« on: July 19, 2005, 06:40:05 AM »
Since my daughter will be flying off to the states for 3 weeks my DH and I would like to have a couple nights away. We were thinking of someplace on the coast where we can walk along the beach and relax. The thing is my daughter has a new puppy (about 4 months old now) that we would like to take along with us.
Any suggestions of places that accept dogs? Any travelling with dog tips?

Thanks for any help!

Helena

We're lucky enough to have a cottage on a Scottish island in the family, that we can use for breaks with our dog.  But i remember once getting a brochure of pet-friendly holidays from a place called Hoseasons.

Here's a link that i hope will help you...

Hi, HG. I'm a little partial to Wales (especially Pembrokeshire!), so I'd recommend this link: http://www.coastalcottages.co.uk/?source=google

If you click on "Availability Search" you can choose to view only properties that allow pets. I have to say, though, that if you're planning your short break for this summer, you might be out of luck. Things around here book up pretty far in advance! But we have gorgeous beaches, woods, coastal paths, etc. for walks with a dog!
