I've still got the last half of ROTK waiting... though I admit I'm a late bloomer, as it wasn't till the films I became an addict.  Now I watch them whenever I need a 'fix' ... they're like a nice warm blanket to me, however weird that may sound. :)

I can relate.  I never read them till I was about 28.  I have no idea why I picked the first book up.  I thought, 'This is slow going.'  By the time the fellowship got to Bree I was hooked!

This is my 3rd time reading the series (2nd time for Harry Potter, and I'll be re-reading the Sister Fidelma series as soon as I'm done).

The LOTR collection is definitely one of my 'comfort films', along w/my Harry Potter ones and Ladyhawke.

While, technically, this should go into Arts & Entertainment... I just didn't think it was worth an entire new thread.

The part of Bellatrix in Order of the Phoenix has been recast:  Helena Bonham-Carter is the new Bellatrix.  I'm still letting it sink in, but I think she could do evil psychotic b*tch well.  Let's just hope she doesn't get to pick her own wardrobe. :-X

EXCELLENT choice!  W/all her wacky Tim Burton experience, she'll be fab.  She did psycho so well in 'Fight Club'.  She's got the dark hair and eyes as well.

Interesting.. Wonder why it was recast?? Helen McCory (sp?) would have been perfect...

The strongest 'hint' yet that Harry may snuff it in book 7:

Well, I'm really late coming in here, but my best friend and I in our Harry discussions all thought that he would probably go in the end after hearing about the prophecy.  We kind of thought it gave the feeling that no one would survive that fight.  Just my opinion.  Thanks for the article!

I wouldn't be surprised at all!  With 2 main characters to die, I bet it's very likely one will be him.  It will be a sad end to the series  :-\\\\

Wouldn't be surprised if Snape went w/Harry.   :o

She can't kill Harry!

I really think it's a red herring. The idea of having the hero of the book die in the end would kill sales. After the initial burst the sales would disappear. Would you buy those books for your kid, knowing that he dies in the end?
