I love Newcastle Brown Ale! In the States, you can get in on tap, and it is sooooo smooth. I took my cousin on a brown ale tour of the UK last April. Belhaven is a close second for the best.
When I'm on the Hard Stuff, my drink varies by time of day and season. In Summer, if I'm going to be drinking more than one, I can handle a lot of gin and tonic with LIME, please. If only one drink, it's a 'rita, straight up, light salt.
My favorite winter drink is Bailey's and butterscotch schnapps. Jamieson's is the next favorite. My choice depends on whether I have to walk any distance. With a B&BS, I won't leave the house.
I tried for years to "develop a taste" for Scotch. I tried all different brands and ages, blends and single malts. Blech! Then one St. Patrick's Day, I had a jar of Jamieson's. It was the nectar of the gods to me. A convert here!
I love red wines. Merlot and Shiraz are my favorites.
