Thanks all! I appreciate the support.

Peedal and DUC, I assume you are both being tongue and cheek about your partners, not the act of getting married. Not that marriage isn't a legal inconvenience for some heterosexuals, but compared to separation across the pond . . .

Don't you think that governments should get out of the relationship-regulatory business? Have one "civil union" for people who want to have legal kinship benefits and then give "marriage" to the churches to dish out (or not). But get the state (US and UK) out of the marriage business - they suck at it.

expat in scotland, my partner comes over in sept, and then the dog and I in oct (when his quarantine rules are met). we can't wait!

Never thought of it that way, but I have to agree! It's a bit antiquated the way they go about regulating who is allowed a visa and who isn't. I'm getting my masters and living w/ my brit bf so we don't have to marry before we're ready.

Congrats to you and your partner!

To expat (and any one else interested), there's pictures of our dog and tortoises (who we must leave in CA   :( ) at our wedding site at www.july24.weddingwindow.com

Enjoy!

Actually -- what I meant was the WHOLE entire visa process was NOT all that easy -- just b/c we're hetero.  The process is difficult.  full stop.  After I sent in my spousal visa application in -- they came back to me saying that I needed to "validate my relationship."  I'm sorry - but that was just nucking futs!  It was basically BEGGING and bribing.  I do agree that governments should get out of the relationship-regulatory system.  ;)

Best of luck with the move!  [smiley=clover2.gif]

Oh, I wish it was that naughty, but it's not really.

It's a phrase that alludes to the myth that gays recruit straights to be gays, and for every person they recruit to the "agenda" or "membership" they receive a toaster in the mail.

When Ellen had her sit-com, she referred to it once in a while.  That's where I think I got it, plus in gay circles.  I wonder about the original etymology of the phrase.

They're not cute because they're gay Pebbles, they're cute because they're from Orange County (like my husband!).

You guys have a great site.

Attractive men are not just exclusive to California, Britwife  ;).   In fact, slender and fit ones are gorgeous the world over.   ;D

'Slider' - love it!  But, a question, was he named for King Aragorn from 'The Lord of the Rings' or the ever-so-sexy wingman of Val Kilmer's 'Iceman' in 'Top Gun' - ah, the famous beach volleyball scene?

Lord of the Rings, we've heard, but that's a first for Val Kilmer - guess I'm gonna have to watch that movie again.

Actually, my partner is a runner.  And he thought the most important thing to a runner is his stride.  So he named him stride, which has kinda morphed into Strider.

He got him 12 years ago when he was only two (and abused) at the pound.  I came in eight years ago as a step-daddy I guess.

He's old, but healthy and active.  We call him our fur ball of love.
