Leftovers

I've been talking to a friend about leftovers.  She's never, ever liked leftovers and I love them.

How about you?

But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

No, I don't like them really.  James hates them and the girls have no concept of leftovers  :) so we really never ever have them.  Ever. :P

DH is a bit weird about them. I do try to do a roast chicken and then use what's left in various other dishes. I will eat leftover chili or curry. Not big on leftover pasta unless it's a pasta salad. I've really tried to come up a with a collection of recipes that doesn't involve many leftover just b/c DH doesnt' really like the idea of them and I am just forgetful about them!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I have hated them ever since I was little.  I'll grudgingly eat something a second night, but after that, not a chance.  Fortunately, my husband will eat leftovers for days. :-X

I like leftover pasta dishes, potato (especially when fried up!), actually I like leftover most things. Stu will rarely eat leftovers, hates them. Never mind, more for me!

I despise leftovers. I call it "used food."

Pizza and Chinese yes, most other things no.  Especially fish, I can't do leftover fish.

I like having leftovers. When I can combine a few leftover items to make a plate, I feel like I'm getting a free meal. Also, I live alone and sometimes it feels pointless to cook at all unless I am making enough for a few meals. Some foods definitely do not make appetizing leftovers though.

I cook and freeze a lot of stuff.  We also roast a chicken every week and it has multiple uses - roast chicken dinner one day, coronation chicken the next, sarnie-fillings, soups, etc.

Leftovers are a staple when you have to economise.

For me, it really depends on what it is.  Pizza, Chinese, BBQ, roasts and salads I can pretty much do.  There are some things, though, that if I eat them, I don't want to have them again for awhile, like chilli.  Two days is my limit on leftovers as well, because my family isn't really creative about making different things out of them (like using chicken in a few different dishes).

If it's Italian (pizza, lasagna, spaghetti), I'll eat leftovers.  Otherwise, no thanks.  (Though every time, without fail, I pretend that I'll eat them.  I wrap them up and stick them in the fridge only to throw them away in two days.  Every single time.  ::) ::))

It's easier to do during stew/soup season.

I really wish we had a compost heap for leftovers as well.
