Airline Approved Car Seats
« on: July 25, 2005, 11:55:28 AM »
Ok, I am a very seasoned traveler with my 3 little kids, but I am having problems with this issue.  Where can I find a list of car seats which are approved by UK or European airlines?  I have tried google, but to no luck.

I flew EasyJet 4x within 1 mos when #3 was 5 mos old - everytime we got a different story about what is allowed/not allowed.  I know Virigin will only allow children to ride in "virgin" car seats.  BA says only approved child seats (but where is the list?!).

I am considering buying a new carseat for my 13 mos old; but would only buy one that would work for air travel.  I have been told my FAA approved car seats will not work over here.

Do the seats need to be CAA or ECE approved?

Thanks!

I would call the airline you're flying with and ask an agent, a lot of times they can email you the information while on the phone so you don't have to write everything down
