My husband just told me a story about that when he was younger the family was driving on the motorway in the Morris Minor and realizing that they were being overtaken by their own tire :-X
But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

Don't know if it was a classic, but a mate of mine had a Studebaker Hawk,it had a little sign on the dash saying "Do not open the windows at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour".

Dave
I loved that one! When I say classic cars I mean any older car..and I think the Studebaker would qualify...lol

I can just picture that now...like something in a cartoon! LOL

The first car I ever owned was a Daimler Conquest Century, cost me 30 quid, ran it for a couple of years, then broke the rear door window and couldn't afford the 12 quid to get it fixed.Lovely car,pre select gears, tables on the back of the front seats etc,and in the handbook it said "In cold weather get your man to place a rug over the engine if the vehicle is left standing overnight"LOL.
Now I see a similar car for a ridiculous amount.

I tend to think that the bride may object to me spending 5 grand on an old car but I can try for it.As you seem to like old cars, this was the second one I owned, not the actual one of course mine was a really nice dark maroon colour.

Oh wicked! It reminds me of one my Dad had, but the name is slipping my mind right now..his was a salmon color....it also kind of reminds me of a Rambler...if I remember the name of the other I will pop it in..we had it as we were moving to Hawaii...I really dont know so much about cars, but do love looking at an old one...the stories they could tell...and heck yeah, your new wife would probably let you get anything...my ex-boyfriend was dying for the old Lincoln Continentals with suicide doors..he ended up with two of them...but never got them fully restored...sold them to a friend...talking about space in those things!

Oops,my fault using the term bride its something I've always done with my wives, with this one its our silver wedding anniversary next year,or so she tells me,though this could just be an excuse to go back to Vegas.
Have you been to Beaulieu?

Been more years than I care to remember since I was down there,my kids were tiny, now they're in their 40s.If you do go there are lots of nice places around there(or used to be),Bucklers Hard, where they built some of the navy ships in Nelsons time,New Milton,Bournmouth and the tank museum at Bovington. This brings back memories of my little boy climbing onto a tank and the bride at the time shouting "Get off before you damage it".
