Unfortunately I didn't see many in England and there are no Taco Bells ( :\\\'() in the UK that I'm aware of.

EEEewww!  Am I the only American who found Taco Bell totally rank?  I wouldn't even go there if I were drunk.  I went once, whilst inebriated, at uni.  That was all it took.

Can't say I've set foot in a Micky D's or Burger King since I've been here, either.

Oh I agree that it's a very personal thing, but it just seems that I don't come across very many Michiganders that actually love curry.  This is reflected in the fact that curry take aways are basically unheard of unless you seek them out (not like in England).  If there was a demand in the general population, there would be supply for it.  I've been all over the US and generally don't think curries is popular as it is in the UK.  Unless we're talking NYC, then everything is available.

Yay, glad to hear it! Except my best friend is a curry-holic and has a favourite restaurant very close by in Connecticut :(You're right about NYC, I had my best doner kebab (sorry, keBOB) there ;)  And american-chinese food is like no other. I have missed "hunan" chicken!

Sorry going off topic here (talking of topics, none of those in the USA either :(

Ha, I think it's my age.  I'm 22, and some of their stuff is gross, like I won't eat their "ground beef."  But their chicken is actually really good quality.  I'm very picky about meat as well.  Maybe you haven't tried the right things.  I got my Brit hooked on it and he's in love with the place.

I wouldn't eat a curry to save my life.  They smell and look disgusting.  Fortunately, DH doesn't like them, either, so I don't have to worry about him bringing one home or dragging me to a curry house!  :-X

I really chuckle at the greasy chicken places named after US cities well since it worked to "Kentucky" we'll just name ours " Massachusetts fried chicken"

I was thinking of making a collage in the shape of the US map with the number of chicken places  ;D ...I have yet to find a Rhode Island Fried chicken yet though... [smiley=laugh4.gif]

Welll...haven't really seen fries on menus like here in the UK (or if so, they're there for children's dinners) chips with pizza?! egg rolls and chips?

Also...I really miss crab ragoon (hard to find here, atleast the restaurants I have been to up here in Newcastle) and the kids miss ''chicken on a stick'' (chicken teriyaki) Oh well....

The '... and chips' thing used to get me too.  I once had a very posh boss that was going to take us out for a very posh dinner of lobster -- and you guessed it -- chips.  Chips?  Baked potato with that lobster, please!

Yep -- I go to a cafe for lunch a couple of times a week for lunch and all of their hot meals are "with chips".  Macaroni and cheese and chips.  Lasagna and chips.  Curry and chips.  No veggie options with these!  Ick.  Starch, anyone?  :-X

I like potatoes as much as the next person.  Even had them for dinner last night, BUT that was in accompaniment with two other green veggies.  All this bread and beans and potatoes does seem like a bit of starch overload.

I LOVE curries! It took me a few years to get used to them but now I love them all. Especially the very hot ones!
