Huggies Baby Wipes

Why? Does anyone have anything good to say about them? They stick together and are impossible to pull apart to wipe a wiggling, screaming baby with.

They gave Aillidh a horrid rash - too wet - and it's not easy to leave a newborn w/its bum uncovered till it dries, given that a lot them hate having their nappy changed. 

In fact, the ONLY wipes that didn't give her a rash were ASDA George sensitive skin/unscented wipes - cheapest as well.

I used the newborn ones and then the fragrence free ones for the first 6 months and thought they were great.  A little expensive, but very soft and truly unscented.  After 6 months we went generic on everything and don't have a problem with those either. 

I dont like them either. Jack also breaks out from them and my last pack they seem to all be stuck together! I often try them when they go on sale 2 for 1. I dont know why I bother!

My favorite were Johnsons's baby wipes, which they don't make here in the US. I looove the smell, and they were so much better than horrid Huggies!

Have never used Huggies wipes. Boots unscented work for us (although sometimes you do pull out 3 when you only want 1!) as do the Sainsbury's sensitive and Pampers sensitive.  Mostly get the Boots ones because they're nearly always 2 for the price of 1.

Do they have baby wipes in the round tub like "Wash-a-bye-baby" here in the UK?

I have only seen NASTY ones in the round tubs. Stu got some one night when I was desperate and they were totally useless. Had to take the lid off to get them out and they were steeped in something similar to nail varnish remover.

I haven't seen baby wipes in a tub.  Really?  Where are they hiding?  I've only seen those hand wipes in a tub that are a must for travelling w/a toddler. 

I like Pampers and Johnson's, leaning towards Pampers. You can usually find all brands on some special, Johnsons' was good for that with my first baby.

The actual Huggies wipes aren't bad, but trying to get them to pull out easily is just nuts.

Sudo for every day use.  But a tube of Bepanthen to hand for particularly bad nappy rash. 

We were given a sample in hospital and have been quite impressed with it. 

Some folks swear by chamomile tea w/a few drops of olive oil. 

This would work great for a baby who is not yet able to roll or crawl away from you, but can you imagine waiting for a mobile baby's bum to dry before you were able to clap a nappy over it - particuraly with boy babies, the results could be . . . well it wouldn't be just their bum that needs dry  .

Huggies don't bother me.  My favourite is Pampers, but I have recently been buying the bulk packages of Huggies because they have been on sale and are cheaper.

I have a Pampers baby wipe dispenser.  Bought it ages ago and can use it with Johnson's or Pampers wipes.

Those boxes are invaluable for when baby gets old enough to find it amusing to pull all the wipes out of the pack.

Later, when the child is older, you can snap off the dispenser bit and use them to story crayons, pencils, etc.  The washable kind, of course  .

And P.S., yes, it is August now!  Only 4 more months to go before my due date - well, okay, 4.5.
