What kind does everyone have? The reviews on Amazon are all quite good, so I can't tell which ones are best!!!!

I have a Crock Pot brand and I love it.  It has the electronic timer with high and low settings as well as a warm setting.  So, after the number of hours for the cooking time runs out it automatically goes on warm mode till you get home.  Nice for not burning up your food if you are running late.

Is it this one by any chance?

I do really like the idea of it switching on to "warm" when it's done with it's cooking cycle 'cause I'm never 100% certain what time we're going to eat. Hmmm.

Excellent!! It's now on my wish list. My mom is throwing us an anniversary party in October and she seems to think that all of her relatives who didn't give us a wedding present might give us an anniversary present instead. Now if only they ask her so she can direct them to Amazon! I know that sounds sortta greedy but... well... I am a little greedy. Hee.  ;)

OK, sorry for the hijack - on to recipes!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oops, I'm slow today!  Must be the lack of food! :P  It's hard letting people know where to look for a gift.

Heehee. Trust me, I understand. I'm PMSing like crazy and that makes me a bit slow on the uptake!  :D I know this is WAY WAY off topic, but it is SO hard to let people know. DH insisted on committing the ultimate faux pas and inserting info. on our wedding registry in our invitations 'cause he was "sick of everyone asking" about it.... I only put them in the ones he was handing out to minimize my embarrassment.  ::) My mom is in charge of the invites for our anniversary party (which will be the first time most of my extended family has met Jamie and so almost like a repeat of our reception!) and while she refuses to put "no gifts, please" she won't go any further. LOL.

My slow cooker is really old and ugly...  i didnt even know they made dual-chamber ones!
I use it about once a week, but dont have any specific 'recipes' that i follow.... I make chilli and curries, roast all manner of meat, and cook sausages in barbecue sauce.

One of the really easy things my mom taught me when i was setting up my first home, was to put a pork roast in the slow cooker...  pour over a can/jar of green salsa, and cook for X hours...  afterward, shred the tender pork meat, spoon some of the sauce over, and serve in flour tortillas.

OMG, if I had any room on my credit card I'd order the thing NOW just so I could make that. YUM.

Is it true that you can switch to cheaper cuts of meat if you use a slow cooker 'cause it makes just about anything turn out really tender? I'm just thinking that maybe that might be an angle to con dh into buying one right away -  "but honey, our weekly shop would be cheaper 'cause I could buy cheaper meat!"

Yup, OK, now I have to get one!!!  That sounds amazing!  But knowing me I will mess it up!
