We got our slow cooker this week!!! It's going to be a god send with dh working nights and me working days. He's been doing most of the cooking, but sometimes he goes to bed late and gets up when I get home, so this way he can throw stuff into the cooker when he goes to bed and forget about it! Yay!!!

He did a beef stew the other night that was really yummy, but I'm sort of red-meated out right now. I'm going to suggest the BBQ pork thing next. That sounds EXCELLENT!!!

I've already bought two of these as wedding gifts this year. It is the "fondue pot" of the 2000s. I secretly want one myself... or not so secretly as I've said it out loud multiple times, ha ha.

I am not much of a meat person but I am curious about other dishes like beans and such, ideas...???

Electric kettle - but that's a guess.

We eat a lot of vegetarian, but I usually don't cook them in the crockpot, because most of my veg recipes are so quick and easy just on the stove.  I tend to just use my crockpot for those beef cravings!

Here's one recipe that I tried out for a black bean stew.  It is a little fiddly, because it uses dried beans and you have to soak them overnight and boil them on the stove for a while, and then you have to add some of the ingredients halfway through cooking.  It was a very tasty soup, though!  I would make it with canned beans, but I haven't found canned black beans anywhere here!
