What's the best piece of advice your mom gave you?

Something along the lines of 'just leave the boys alone'.  ;)

What was the worst piece of advice you ever got from either of your parents?

Just pray & believe in god and things will get better.  No, Mom, no, they won't.  The day my life began to get better was the day I said 'screw that', stopped believing that some force outside me was going to make anything better, and took the responsibility unto myself.

What are you doing on this cold Sunday?

I've already made breakfasts and been to church and gone for a snowy walk.  Now I need to answer my email, make dinner, go grocery shopping, do laundry and ironing, help my daughter learn her ridiculous dinosaur spelling words, make supper, clear up, send kids to bed, read some "Life in the UK" and watch an episode of "House".  Exciting life, eh?

What would you do if tomorrow you could take a day off, but weren't allowed to do any household work or errands or fulfill any obligations of any kind?

Sleep, read, take a Lush bath, eat chocolate, mess about on t'internet, try to keep warm.  Actually, my days off are spent like that.  :-[  (I must have the life of Riley.)

Yes, and it scared me! I'm not joking there.  It's kind of a "which came first" situation. Is my heart pounding because I'm scared?  Or am I scared because my heart is pounding for no reason?

What helps you to sleep well at night?

Being really tired (but not so over-tired that I'm "racing"), and not being too warm.  And only one flat-ish pillow.

Do you often wake up in the middle of the night for some reason or another or sleep straight through?

Sometimes, I wake up kind of freaked out for no reason with my heart racing, but I am able to get back to sleep no problem, luckily.

What position do you tend to fall asleep in?

Sitting in what we call the 'cozy corner' of the sofa, under a blanket, while watching TV, with DH snuggled up next to me.  For some reason, I am the most relaxed there & can easily go to sleep just like that.  Then when I get up to go to bed, I can't sleep.  ::)

Will you be doing anything special for Valentine's Day?

Yes... for once! Headed to Newcastle to see my hinny. :) Didn't plan it specifically to land on Valentine's, it just worked out that way. Kismet, me thinks! And he's got a surprise in store, he says.  :D

What would you pack to leave in the UK until you return in August that you could do without for 6 months, but wouldn't want to do without for the rest of your life? Hypothetically, of course. ;)

All right, that was a shoddy question. And now that the bag is packed, a bit irrelevant. So... new question: What's one place in the UK you haven't yet visited but would like to?

Cornwall.  Hubby and I have vague plans to go camping there this summer.

What do you regret most in your life?  Have you ever done anything that you maybe should regret, but don't?
On s'envolera du même quai

Pour cette vie et celle d'après
Tu seras mon unique projet.

Je t'aimais, je t'aime, et je t'aimerai.

I don't really do regret - if it's already happened I dont worry about it.

Do you keep a bird feeder near a window?

No. We have a blackbird family that comes into our back garden to nest every spring, so we leave bits of bread out for them, though.

Are you more of a cat or a dog person, or do you feel equally about both of them?
If we called them Sad Meals, no one would buy them.

I'm a cat person, and DH is a dog person.  It even reflects in our personalities.  :D

Weekend plans?

Work, grocery shop, clean the house, and relax...Perhaps some champagne and chocolate on Saturday :)

Do you like Valentine's Day?
Even after all this time the sun never says to the Earth "You owe me."
Look what happens with a love like that, it lights the whole sky.

I'm not really a fan - the husband and I usually boycott it but do something nice for DD.

Are you going out to eat tomorrow night?
