Being in Ireland at Christmas time and New Year's Eve--I hope it snows!

What are you dreading most this holiday season?

More snow, ice & cold weather!  Argh.  Hope we are able to drive safely everywhere that we're planning to travel over the holiday period, without any problems.  :-\\\\

Do you take longer to get ready for the day in the wintertime?!  (I sure do because after my shower - I slather myself up with so much moisturiser - arms, legs, body, face, feet, hands, etc...so as not to end up looking & feeling like a dried up old prune.  :P)

Not really a cocktail, but I do seem to drink loads more champagne this time of year.

Does your town or neighborhood put up Holliday decorations?

Not just one - a whole host!  Wearing the paper crown, Christmas crackers, brussel sprouts, extra Christmas 'cheer', Christmas pudding, playing silly games like charades under the influence of Christmas 'cheer'.

Where are you at with your holiday preparations?  Finished?  Haven't even started yet?  Somewhere in the middle?  Discuss...

Glad you answered that one 'cause I couldn't think of anything.  I don't like Christmas pudding or cake and have not yet experienced the playing of charades at Christmas time.  I do like brussels sprouts, but have always eaten them when in season.  I don't associate them with Christmas at all yet.  Will never wear a paper crown.  Have experienced the cracker thing though not really a tradition.

Hubby ordered everything online over two different evenings (gifts for mum, niece, his brother, and brother's partner).  Now we wait for it to be delivered.  I'll wrap it all.  No gifts between hubby and I as our gift to each other is our trip to Ireland this year (though it's a working holiday)  Don't have to worry about my side of the family as we are Jewish and don't do gifts (not for Chanukah either).

Are there certain people who get a phone call from you on Christmas Day?  Who are they?

My mom (and stepdad) and my sister and her family. The Husband's sister and her family.

Do you have a movie that you can watch over and over and over again? If so, what is it?

I once watched the BBC 6 part mini-series of Pride and Prejudice (the Colin Firth one) 6 times over the course of about a week!

I love to watch any of the different versions of "A Christmas Carol" every year.  Have seen the musical one many, many times.

Other movies I've seen many, many times that I don't care to ever see again, like The Wizard of Oz and The Sound of Music.

Does your pet have a Christmas stocking or get any gifts at Christmas?

Yes, a stocking filled with treats and new toys.

If you have a stocking, is it your childhood stocking or one you acquired as an adult?

Don't have a stocking.  Well, I guess my mom still has mine.

Do you do anything special for Boxing Day?

No, nothing we do that's the same every year.  This year we'll be making our way over to Ireland on Boxing Day.

What is one holiday tradition you have kept (or intend to keep) when moving over to the UK.

Opening one present on Christmas eve.  Patience is not exactly my strong suit!  ;D

Do you (gently) shake gifts before opening them?
