When I think back on all the Chanukahs as a kid and all the Christmases even with exes, all the holiday parties and Solstice celebrations, I've got lots of soft warm memories, but not much stands out as spectacular.

What is your most fun New Year's Eve memory?

My dad's unfortunately  :\\\'( .  Before that it had been years and years since I attended one.

What was the last costume / fancy dress party you attended and what did you dress up as?

A friend's Halloween party a few years ago. I went as a Medieval bar wench, wearing the dress I was supposed to wear in her wedding to her first husband. They were going to have a Medieval theme, but decided they couldn't afford to. In the meantime, we'd all ordered our dresses with a 30 day money back guarantee, but she only realized they couldn't afford it AFTER time had expired. Still, I got the coolest dress ever out of the deal.  ;D

If you could meet one of your ancestors, based on what you have heard about this person, which one would you choose, and why?

My best friend had two medieval / renaissance (not too pedantic when it came to historical accuracy) themed weddings.  Her real wedding and her pagan wedding.  Guests were encouraged, but not forced to come in costume.  Her dress was amazing as was my two dresses (a different one to each wedding).

Unfortunately we don't much about my ancestors at all.  We know the identity of one or two of my great-grandparents and that's it.
Maybe my great grandmother or grandfather on my Mom's side as they owned a candy store on South Street in Philadelphia in the late 1800s.

If you could own and run any kind of retail shop, what would it be and why?

I have always wanted to run a children's bookstore. One where they could come and hang out and read, like you can at Barnes and Noble, but with kid sized furniture for them and adult sized furniture for the parents. I'd also want a snack bar where they had a variety of healthy treats, but also some cookies too. I just love little ones, and feel reading is important, not just as a necessary part of life, but as an enjoyable past time.

What is the first film you remember seeing at the cinema?

If you could stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?

The one I'm in now. No point looking back, but being in the moment.

What was your favourite costume / character as a child (like for Hallowe'en / fancy dress party)?

I had a few and they were ones I made myself.  I was a Native American princess complete with papoose (my stuffed cat on my back, dressed up as well) and a Gypsy (I hope that isn't a politically incorrect term, but I was always fascinated by what I thought was exotic).

Was there an outfit that you were forced to wear as a child?

In the 70s my grandmother knitted me, my sister, and my mom black and white patterned ponchos.  That became the basis of my Native American princess costume!

My very veggie chilli.

What activity are you most looking forward to as soon as Spring truly arrives?

Last fall we started clearing out old creeping shrubbery (for lack of the correct term) that was growing in one of the flowerbeds for YEARS. The project took longer than we thought because of so many stumps. We have just  bit to finish clearing, then the fun can begin. We've been thinking ideas, and making designs for what we want to replace it all with. The flowerbed is 7 ft wide by about 40 feet long, along the driveway.

Do you find your priorities have changed in the last 10 years?

Definitely a question for one of the older members here on UK-Y (that includes me!).  10 years is a long time.  But, yes.

Where would you like to be (in your life) in 5 years?

How old is your coat?

Oh gosh, I brought it over with me so it must be going on 6 years old? It is definitely showing its age.

If money/space/practicality had no say, how many children would you have?
