ILR Application- absense from country
« on: August 03, 2005, 12:50:50 PM »
Hello all.  I'm a bit retentive.  I know.  I will be applying in August 2007 for my ILR.  This will be based on my 4 years on a work permit here in the UK.  I've been reading up on it and looking around and I see that the Home Office has recently gotten stringent on absenses from the UK during these 4 years.  I travel a lot for work (1 month travelling, 2-3 months here), So I average 8-9 months in the country every year.  During this time I am employed and paid by my UK company.  I've looked at the SET(O) form that i'll be filling out in 2 years time, and there doesn't seem to be anything on here about docunmneting these absenses.  anything to calm my brain would be marvelous.

Would it calm your brain to know that that form could change about 12 times between now and two years from now?  ;)

No - seriously.  Your absences are work-related, not pleasure or holiday.  Being able to explain that in person might be one reason to think about doing the application in person (though it costs more).  Of course, that's 2 years from now...anything could change between now and then.  ::)
