We named our daughter Isabella Mia Angela.  Isabella after my great-grandma Olivio or Nunni, as we lovingly called her.  Mia was just a name I have always loved.  Angela was after my grandma Scarcella.  It was one of her names given at confirmation.  With my family being Italian, I have always been partial to Italian names.

My mother's name is Evelyn. If I ever had a girl I'd definitely use the name- I think the nickname Evie (eevie, not evvy) is cute for a munchkin, and it seems like it would "age" well.

I heard the name in a movie once for a little girl - Brooklin - and I just loved it!!  The ex and I were never able to have children so when we got a dog, he let me name her, and that's what she was called.  A beautiful black Laborador called Brooklin Blaze.

Oh - but let's not get going on pet names!!   ::)

My own name comes from my great-grandmother, who was Lola Jewel.  My cousin (the second granddaughter) is Jewel.  I share my middle name (Ellen) with my mother, and would like to carry on that tradition, but I can't think of any first names that "go" with Ellen.

My half-sister is named Peggy Ellen.  Not Margaret, but Peggy.  Her mother's name is Ellen.  Don't have a clue where the Peggy came from...

My son's name is Tristin Bryant, (first name is because I had always liked that name and Bryant is my husbands middle name.  If I am ever blessed with a girl her name will be Haley Marie or Hannah Grace. If I am again blessed with another son, I am thinking Thomas Andrew or Haden James.

Ok, no babies here yet, but as some have posted we too have names picked out :)
If we have a girl she will be Aisling Louise and a boy will be Eamon Willis.  Aisling because we both Love the name and Louise after DF's niece who died at 5 months (the first baby he'd ever held). Eamon was the ONLY boys name we could agree on and Willis is my Grandfathers middle name.
Micky already has a Finn, Tomas and Owen.
Only Time will tell.. it's just too bad she's a closed mouth B**!!!

Philip Andrew. Philip is named after my husband's twin brother. Andrew is my youngest brother.

We're big into family names, and MUCH prefer traditional names rather than more modern or trendy ones.
I'm done moving. Unrepatriated back to the UK, here for good!

my favorite girls name is Mirabelle.  I don't know where I heard it, but it just has a lovely ring to it.  Mirabelle Evelyne.

Mirabelle is also the airport in Montreal. I once had a cat named Mirabelle.

I heard the name in a movie once for a little girl - Brooklin - and I just loved it!!

Hmmm ... that's a bit too Posh'n'Bex for me.  :-X

I don't plan on having children, but I do like thinking about names! If I ever had a daughter, she'd be Alice Rose. I like old-fashioned names as well and am particularly annoyed about made-up names. Or naming kids things that are clearly not meant to be names -- Chardonnay, for instance. GAG.

One of my best friends is just about to adopt a two-year-old boy. She and her husband are not allowed to change his name, so they're going to be stuck with what some 16 y/o unfit mother named him: Kaine. Yup. Kaine. You heard it. Not even Cain, which would be bad enough. His middle name is Leon, so my friend is going to nickname-ify him into Kal -- about the best you can do with Kaine Leon.

The names of my daughters have great meaning (I like to know what a name means and where it orginates).

The oldest is Zoe (a name that is quite popular over HERE, but wasn't so popular in the States when I named her.  I also HATE common names like Jennifer and the like.  I have always liked and been proud of my unique name and I want to give my children the same experience of not having to be one in a crowd of many, but to have a stand out, unique name.  Zoe is a greek word meaning LIFE (or, more specifically, as it was used in the New Testament of the Bible, the Life of God).  Her middle name is Mikaela (Hebrew origin), meaning in God's image.

My second daughrer also has a greek word for her first name.  Rhema, pronounced Hray-mah.  This word means the living, spoken word.  Her middle name is Grace.  She is a living word of grace.

Jamie and I have already been discussing names for the child I am carrying and have settled on a name for a girl, we are still deliberating about boy's names.  Jamie has been convinced from the start, you see, that I am carrying a girl. ::)  Eowyn for a first name (yes, from J.R.R Tolkien's Lord of the Rings ;D, in honour of that great literary work, and for who and what the character Eowyn was) and Amanda (in honour of my great-grandmother) for a middle name.

Like I said, we are still deliberating about a boy's name. ::) ~sigh~

I am Autumn Dawn.   I was not named by hippies, nor was I born in the morning of an Autumn day.  My mother was 40 years old when she gave birth to me and named me and now I am thirty one (you do the math).  She loved the time of year and thought it was a beautiful, unique name - and, it is.  I have always been proud of it, and, simply, it suits me.

It is interesting what Lola said about "old lady names", as I would like to honour my grandmother by using her name for a girl...but, I just can't do that to a child.  Myrtle.  No.  Especially not with the popularity of Harry Potter now, and "Moaning Myrtle".  It would just never do.

As for first names that go with Ellen, Lola, there's always Mary (you know, like in the Waltons).  I also think that Sarah goes well with Ellen.
I was born in the Summer and at Night...my mother named me AUTUMN DAWN.  True story.

Jamie's...beyond the stars and past eternity.

EMAIL or PM me for information about gigs or about booking me (solo gig) or the band.

Son #1 is Alexander Miles but we've always called him Miles. Makes it interesting when we go to doctors, dentists, etc and they walk out and call for Alexander or Alex and we sit there for a minute until we realise they mean him. :P

Son #2 is Nicholas Adam. When he was born my mom said she didn't mind me naming him Nicholas as long as we never called him Nick. She knew a guy named Nick and didn't like him. ::) I never intended for him to be called Nick but when he was about 2 his Sunday School teacher started calling him Nick and it just stuck. He looked at me one day and said "I'm not Nicholas..I'm Nick." Well...ok then. He does answer to both now though.

Oh and neither of them are named for anyone. I just liked the names and the names suit them. :)

My mother's middle name is Elsie.  I can totally relate.   :o

I have always favoured Irish names as well, so I really like Molly and Aisling for girls' names and Aidan and Connor for boys' names.  However, I have lots of cousins of the child-bearing age, so I'm kind of afraid that they'll end up taking the names I like before I get the chance!  I already had to convince my aunt not to name her Golden Retriever puppy Molly because there is NO way I could use that name if she gave it to her dog!  Everybody would think I named my child after her dog lol

My daughter's name is Celeste Apauline (ah-po-leen). Celeste was a fovorite great-aunt of mine and Apauline was my adored great-grandmother. Celeste hated her middle name when she was young so much that she told everyone that the A. stood for Ann. Now, at 24, she loves her name and is very proud of the family connection it gives her.

EVERYONE has a dog named Molly.  ::)

Usually when introducing myself it goes like this-
"Hi- I'm Molly."
"REALLY? That's our dog's name!"/ "Good Golly, Miss Molly!"
*me- pained smile and nod*
Oh well- at least I like the name. . . .
