we had turkish food at Grand Bazaar on James street (near oxford street, a block away).  It was INSANELY good.

£15 per person for 9 different meze (7 cold-like dips and beans etc., 2 hot) to start, a main of your choice (i had fish in foil with turkish spices and veggies but was so full from the 9 mezze i hardly ate any!  Dessert, coffee and tea.  You had to pay extra for the poofy hot pita bread and wine.  The wine was a tad overpriced but the food was to DIE FOR.  I liked every single thing and tha'ts very not me!!!

It's got all these glass lanterns hanging from the ceiling...it's a great great place!

get off at bond street, it's only a 3 min walk from there!

We went to a great turkish place in stoke newington last year.  I'll have to ask my friends what it's called when they get back from their Honeymoon.

Rasoi Vineet Bhatia in Chelsea is supposed to be excellent for Indian food but it is not cheap.  Vineet Bhatia is one of the best Indian chefs around.

Not exactly central, but I'm partial to Monty's in Ealing....
