Personal Diet Profile and Goals
« on: August 12, 2005, 08:37:25 PM »
I thought it would be fun to have everyone who is on a diet or wanting to change their physical lifestyle for the better to share their experiences and their target goals.  I see so many of those cute ticker symbols of people wanting to lose X amount of weight by X amount of time.

Me:
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 135lbs
Exercise Regime: running 5x/week; weight lifting 3x/week
Diet: 6 meals per day, small portions.  Diet consists mostly of chicken breast, brown rice, salad, cereal, oatmeal, vegetables, fruit, yogurt, and cheese.  Once a week, I eat whatever I want (sweets, fats, fast food)

My goal:  To build more muscle and tone, keep blood pressure and cholesterol low
Target Weight:  125-130lbs (hopefully mostly muscle)

But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

Okay...

Carla
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 149
Exercise Regime: The Firm DVDs 5-6 times per week, using 2.5, 3, 4 and 5kg dumbbells, 8lb body bar and 14" tall box step
Diet: vegan, three meals per day, sometimes with a snack between lunch and dinner

Goals: To stop weighing myself (!) and to build strength, endurance, muscle tone and overall fitness. I'll be where I want when this layer of abdominal fat is reduced and my arms look more like Angela Bassett's than Oprah Winfrey's!

You need to eat more.   Any diet that limits you to less than 1000 calories a day is dangerous.  You are starving yourself and your metabolism is going to slow down which will make it even harder to lose weight. You are also probably not getting all the nutrients you need.  If you plan on exercising, you are going to need energy to do it. Energy, which is what a calorie is a measure of, comes from food.

It doesn't limit me but my appetite is suppressed and I struggle to eat very much.
