Proposed train service reduction - please help
« on: August 14, 2005, 10:07:17 AM »
Hi, folks, how are you all doing?  LisaE and I have been having a busy summer travelling here, there and everywhere ... indeed, I'm off to Edinburgh and Cambridge shortly for my week's work.

Some of you who've been around longer have visited us at home in Melksham (and we hope to see you again!), and some of you may have arrived by train.   The train service to Melksham is now under threat and I'm shouting a bit about that ... I've put together a web site called "save the train" and wonder if you would mind having a quick look ... I want to get its visibilty / web presence up.

Oh - and if you DID visit us by train or might in the future, please register an interest and use the links to write to the franchise bidders, the SRA and the MP!

Graham~

Would it be helpful if we added our names and email addresses to the petition thingy even if we are not in your area? I am always glad to see people taking an interest locally and actually DOING something about local issues. Good for you! I hope your campaign is successful!

The government wants us to use public transport more, so trains cut their service.  Yeah, that makes sense.

Yes, and I'll be adding a better "Petition" - I hope overnight but might take 36 hours. Will update this thread when I do that.   And thanks for your good wishes.
