Looks like 'panic buying' has started in some parts of the country in advance of fuel protests planned for Wednesday and Friday.

It certainly has down here on the South Coast, I just walked to the local garage and they're all backed up to the road, tooting their horns at each other and some yelling - I couldn't believe my eyes :o then a cop showed up!

I only went in for toilet roll (oh and chocolate :-X

There was a queue around the street to get into our BP this morning. I usually go to Tesco but they are lined up normally anyway. I'm not on empty. We usually keep half a tank all the time but we're getting a bit low.
I'll wait for the weekend and see if things calm down.

Has it changed my day to day life?........not mine so much but it's sure going a long way in keeping my kids and grandkids fit :P.......it's the best reason we've had so far to stop being the family taxi ;D.....I'm wondering......does anyone know the ratio of cars to households here in the U.K?, it's gotta be nowhere near the U.S.

When looking around at several different villages in England, I came across a statistical site and the number of people in towns without vehicles averaged about 40%.

 Precisely.......   ;D

All our garages are closed down here - sold out! The ladies who work there just told me they have been abused all day "I'm disabled, I'll sue you", "How do I get to hospital, if something happens to me...." and "I bet YOUR cars are filled up"..............charming british public, pigs.

We don't think of impact like that, they're just sitting there exhausted from all of the abuse today.

O.K I am sorry if this is incredibly dumb, but I just don't get the whole fuel protest. How does it do anything if people are panic buying and stockpiling in the days in advance???  ???

Like it's so easy to run a car here when you make £4.86/hour working behind a till in a petrol garage.   ::)

Gas dropped here quite a bit now! It was up to $2.79 again but now has dropped to $2.62 so hopefully that's a good sign and it will keep going in that direction!

The garages up the road are charging a mere 92p/litre now!  That's the lowest I've seen it for a little while.
It looks like the halcyon days of 82p/litre earlier in the year are gone.

I'd be thrilled to see 92p/litre! Around here it was still 98-99p the last time I checked!
