my baby is a baby no more..... *3 pics..

he is 2 days shy of 14 months old. ...










..taken in leicester on august 14th.  not a day passes when he doesn't amaze me..!
this morning, he hugged and kissed my leg. he didn't try to bite. he was being genuinely affectionate!!

ahhhhh!!!! he's a toddler!!!!!!!!!! (somedays, this just HITS me!!) 

(*yes. we are BIG fans of his toddler reigns. he sees them and KNOWS its time for a walk and puts his arms out
to have them put on. don't judge us for this. they work for us. Sean took these pictures and i was right nearby.)

thanks... i get some of the dirtiest looks sometimes when he is out and on them, but you know what? i know he's safe on them instead of just holding my hand..(which is mostly does when on the reigns too.)

if Calvin even sees the reigns hanging up behind the kitchen door, he gets excited!! silly kids!!!!

Really, how strange?  I've never had dirty looks, then again, I don't really pay attention.  We put reigns on him whenever we leave the house.  You never know what they will do next at this age, and as you say, better safe than sorry.

its not in the village we live in as most people near by know us now... its more when we visit bigger cities/towns.. (*makes wiggly finger gesture to people who stare*)
i would rather not keep Calvin in his pushchair when we are out all the time. besides the extra walking does help his little teething self sleep better at night!!

Ahem to that!  We are trying to build up Niall's distance walking skills.  We have a lovely tow path next to us and before he came along, we used to walk very long portions of it on the weekend.  We've gotten him to about a quarter of our smallest walk and hope to get him halfway before the summer ends.

Calvin is such a sweet boy.  We have started to use reigns, all I can say I wish we had started them right when Jackson started walking.

Calvin will now walk about 20 minutes or so before he gets tired... but after a small break, he is ready to go again!!:)

we tried the wrist reigns first, but Calvin isnt confident enough on catching himself when he falls over for those yet.. so its the around-the-body reigns for now!!:)
