Hmm, I kind of have to agree. I never drank milk in the US. I hated it. Even whole milk  didn't taste nice to me. Here I drink a gallon or two a week! Mind you, we drink organic milk, but when I've tasted the non-organic, full fat milk, I loved it. I thought it was very tasty.

I'm not a milk drinker, so can't as I've noticed a difference -- I pretty much only use a bit of milk in tea or coffee. But I have noticed the peculiar way American bread never spoils! Bizarre!!!

Ewww. I've become so aware of what I eat since I came to the UK. I get all freaked out if something has E numbers in it and whatnot. I shudder to think of all the crap I ate back in America. God knows it tasted great but ewww.

funny you should mention the bread thing. I was just talking to chris about this tonight. I am slowly realizing this point, that no matter how much I think we will eat the bread quick enough this time... we never do...  :(

I've found double cream in the stores here.  It's over by the fancy cheeses not by the milk and cream.

I love dairy products here, so creamy and yummy.  I do love the fresher, more natural bread you can get here.

Stick it in the fridge. We go through phases - sometimes we get through a loaf in time but usually, especially in the summer when it's warm and humid, we can't eat it before it goes bad. Sticking it the fridge makes it a bit less soft, but especially if it's for toast, it doesn't really matter....

Or make your own bread. Thats what we do. That way you can always have bread whenever you need it.  ;)

I used to drink soya milk in the states-but after hearing hubby go on about how much better milk is here I gave in.  He's right-it is better and now I use organic cow's milk.
Bread tastes better here as well.  As does chocolate!  :)

Mmm,  yeah... the milk here is so much nicer!
Remember how skimmed milk back in the US had a sort of blue-ish tint to it?  UGH!

American milk: YUM.  Loads better.  But, I get it fresh from the cow (well, it chills in the fridge before we drink it!).

I have to agree, cheese in the UK is better.  Or, at least you get the variety that we lack so much in the states.  I've found a couple of gourmet cheese shops in Seattle, so we get our fix that way.
