Best:  well, I guess, if you really need to do offroad driving -- traveling somewhere there are no roads (like parts of Mongolia?), rescue vehicle use perhaps.

Worst:  pretty much everything else -- generally annoying, gas hog > bad for the environment, etc :-\\\\
