visa mistake?

i recieved my visa/student entry clearance today, it should have been for the legnth of my studies (4 years) plus six months, but it expires in twelve, i dont have time to straiten it out before i leave, but does anyone know of this happening. i am just going to have to talk to someone once i get to the uk i guess.

How long before you leave?  If at all possible, I would try to have it all straightened out before you go.  Or at least call the consulate, notify them of the mistake, let them know your time constraints, and ask them for their advice....
