Good resturaunt?
« on: October 04, 2003, 01:54:13 PM »
Ok -- so people only have like 30 mins to answer this  (should have posted it earlier).

Andrew and I are going to be in London today and I want to go to a great place to eat.

What is the absolutely best restaurant you know of?  We eat absolutely anything, so don't worry about style  (Mexican, Japanese, etc.)

I just had a lovely lunch at a little Italian place on the back side of Buckingham Palace (I think the road is called Buckingham Palace Gate ... which leads up to the Mews).  I don't remember its name, but my God was the asparagus with Parma ham something special.  Sorry I couldn't be more specific.

Wagamama, definitely!  Mmmm..mmm!

Also good is Cafe Pacifico, for Mexican.  It's just across and down the alley from Covent Garden.

Okay, what's a Wagamama?  Never heard of it.  Sounds interesting ... what does it offer?

Caitlinn, what does the restaurant look like?  I'm going to be moving in 2 short weeks, and my flat is a stone's throw from Buckingham Palace Gate...

:)

No, actually I don't remember what it looks like.  I know it's in the opposite direction as the Palace Mews (going towards Victoria), on the left hand side of the road.  I had a friend who went with me and I've emailed her to ask if she remembers.  I'll let you know.

In the meantime, here's a list of Italian restaurants in the area.  One of these might actually be the one ... http://www.menu2menu.com/itallonsw.html

Further Edit

It's called L'Arco; my friend confirmed it and it is on that list of restaurants above, which includes addresses.  We both are still drooling over that asparagus.
