I'm very happy here and w/the pace of life here.  I do miss my family and friends, but we stay as close as we can, and I hadn't lived at home since 1989.

I like the work to live attitude, especially as I have a toddler and am expecting another baby in December.  And the fact that my identity isn't tied to what I do for a living and that people are less into each other's business here and I'm left alone.

Well,  you know... i just like to answer the questions.   ;)

Oh, and my ease of adjustment to Scottish life is not just a 'claim', as another post seemed to suggest.

Mine's not a claim, either.  I have the life I always wanted - a wonderful man, a home, a family - here.  Coming here and staying here was the best decision I ever made.

I'm fairly happy.  I never thought of it as adjusting.  I just did it.

I'm quite happy over here.  Have had some blips, but overall quite fine.  I moved over for a job and not for love...but ended up finding love (which was quite a surprise to find it so soon).  I love my work, have enjoyed playing on a field hockey team and joined a cricket team this summer.  I've begun to develop some friendships with a few Brits though no best friends...but I know I can call on people to go out which is nice.  The only thing I miss is being able to drive the 5 hours to visit my dad, step-mom, brother, sister-in-law and my dog...but it's something you can get used to.  My plan right now...stay forever.

Im happy too. Only minor problems along the way, but everyone experiences those and eventually we get through them. And as for having any regrets, there are none. I have two gorgeous babies and a wonderful husband who can just smile at me and I know Im ''home'' where ever they are. I find I miss my family, but we make do by talking all the time and as for the rest I can do without.  :)

*raises hand*

I love it here. By the way, speak to Peedal! :)

Peedal here.

I didn't "just get here" - been here three years this week.  And I haven't had one regret.  Not one "homesick" moment - because this is my home.  Not one second thought.  Not one tiny speck of doubt.

I am well and truly happier here.  ;D

Thank you Peedal, and the other happy posters, for reminding me that it is perfectly okay to be happy.

This morning so much negativity tried to pop into my head. Yeesh. I am very happy, and I do not apologise for it :)

Let's take our wigs off in the shopi aisle and fight it out.

I am quite happy here...and would be very happy if my family (older children) were on the same side of the ocean! I've decided that seeing them regularly is the most important factor in being happy with where I am living, so, while there are good things about the US and the UK (or any other country I am sure...for the most part) I am moving back to the US. There are a few things I don't like about life in the UK, but they are not major enough to want to move in and of themselves. There would be minor adjustments anywhere you move (even state to state in the US.)

exactly!  i never thought about it either.  It was 20 years ago, there was no internet, no email, no huggy-feely warm-fuzzy supportive forums to 'vent' on.  You just lived your life, learnt your lessons, and got on with things.  End of.  :)

I wasn't implying it's not okay to be happy. :) But it's okay to not be happy all the time too. (I'm just saying that because in the past I've been made to feel like there was something wrong with me for not being totally happy when I was going through rough patches.)
Plans on hold 'cuz Brexit
