I thought the same and I just paid £600 rtns with AA from London to NY, but then remember these sales always say "FROM" £249 return etc, once you add on the taxes, you're back up to £300-400

Better be anyway ;)

I just priced a ticket on BA for next week to NYC for £298 (£113 of which is the tax).

Well, I don't feel so bad about my £319 to Boston. It's only £21 more. I can handle that. :)

Just a tip when searching internet prices.......if you can plan and commit at least 90 days in advance, you'll get your best deals.....hard to do sometimes I know but.........

i'm looking at christmas flights now- around £380 or £410.  these £300 deals- when are the flights?  within the next 2 months or so?  taking the boyfriend home for the family experience.

There is a blackout period from mid December to early January.  If you want to travel within these few weeks, it will be more expensive.  The BA fare I got to NYC is for travel next week.  GBP300 is not bad for next week, considering I haven't even booked a ticket yet.
