Pumpkin Pie Spice
« on: October 07, 2003, 01:51:16 AM »
So today Andrew and I went out and bought some pumpkins.  Two beautiful orange ones to carve and a really scary looking grey one that the lady promised was fantastic for cooking with.

I've got a number of recipes I want to make, but a few of them call for Pumpkin Pie Spice, which I obviously can't get my hands on.  Anyone know what's IN Pumpkin Pie Spice so I can just make it myself?  Or does anyone know where I can get canned pumpkin pie stuff (so I can use my plain pumpkin for recipes that don't need that spice)?

Thanks!!!!

Use this in pumpkin and sweet potato pies, sweet potato casseroles, custards, and other desserts.
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoons ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
Combine all ingredients. If you make extra, store in an airtight container.
