UK Spouse visa - no job
« on: September 15, 2005, 04:58:42 PM »
Hi all, this is my first post here. I am a UKC living in Maryland with my USC spouse. We are planning to move back to the UK in the next couple of years and so will be applying for a UK spouse visa for my wife with Indefinite Leave to Remain as we've been married over four years. I hope to try and secure a job in the UK before leaving but I know this will be difficult. My question is, if I can't get a job beforehand, is the spouse visa likely to be denied? Will it suffice to have a letter from my parents in the UK stating that they will support us until I get a job?

Thanks!

Hi Jeremai
Welcome. I recognise you from BE ( I'm a member there as well). Congrats on the baby, BTW. I havent posted much lately, lots going on. But we are going through he same thing. A letter should suffice as its mainly they just want to know you wont be dependant on the government, But anything more to help will be good. A letter of recommendation on your previous job, any bank statements or maybe equity in a home to be sold. Maybe even writing down any qualifications so to show you are job worthy. I'm the Brit and my husband is the USC in my case. Good luck.  calle

Hi

If your parents are going to help then as well as the support letter they should provide 3 months worth of bank statements.
