You've got to give the fabric softener a good shake before dispensing.  I do it over the sink and then decant.  And go easy on the scent - it really does become stronger. 

Do you mean before using?? What do you mean by dispensing. I'll all confuzzled now.  :-\\\\

you shake it up in the milk bottle and then pour it out is all, 'cuz the bicarb can sink to the bottom of the milk jug.  I used to measure it into a teacup, but now I know just by looking how much I need and just pour it straight into the fabric softener compartment of the machine.

Thank you for this link! I was tempted to bring back a huge flexible container of Arm & Hammer from Sam's Club when we were in NY last week!  I miss Baking Soda for all my cleaning!
